Tag:Ranking, PvP There have been whispers of some sort of battlegrounds matching system in the past, without any real information on what such a system would try to match. Today, Drysc responded to a post with some additional hints on the kind of the system we can expect. The system will only be viable with the new cross-realm battlegrounds system, due to the increased size of the player pool, and will attempt to match people with specific levels of gear together. It seems like such a matching system would be darned complicated, but if this really works, my Zul'Gurub-geared priest will be quite happy to not again be one-shotted by Ashkandi-wielding warriors.

Tag:Patches, PvP We've known for a while that patch 1.12 will include some PvP changes, including the addition of world PvP objectives. However, Blizzard employees have been reluctant to provide any details - until, apparently, today, when someone let IGN on a first glimpse of the world PvP system. So what should you expect? New outdoor objectives in Silithus and Eastern Plaguelands that will flag players who participate as PvP, and provide buffs to all faction members in the zone upon success. In Silithus, players will collect dust to turn in to camps of their faction (remember the camps for the "Field Duty" quests? This will be where you'll do your turnins.) - however, picking up the dust will flag players PvP.. In Eastern Plaguelands, there are several towers that will be converted into capturable PvP objectives. If your faction controls all of the towers, they'll receive zone-wide buffs.

Tag:Druid, Paladin, Priest, Shaman, Analysis / Opinion, PvP The priest I'm currently playing is the first character I've made any serious attempts to PvP with. And, no, I'm not blazing through Alterac Valley in shadowform - I heal, much to the amazement of people I end up grouped with. At first I was surprised by the shock of other players when I healed them, but after spending some time in all of the battlegrounds, I've come to realize that healing in PvP is quite a headache.

Tag:Patches, Items, PvP Blizzard has put up official info on the new PvP set updates on their armor sets page (just select the PvP superior or PvP epic set from the pull-down menu on the right). We will see these new sets up on the live realms after the 1.11 content patch. This does make the PvP sets look less shabby in comparison to the PvE options, and hopefully further planned PvP improvements planned for 1.12 will make matters even better for those that prefer PvP content.

Tag:Events, Blizzard, PvP MissFriday's Warsong Gulch with Blizzard? Well, there's plenty of chatting going on about the match on the forums, including accusations ofcheating. (Apparently one of the Blizzard characters was flagged to be untargetable during their first match, though Eyonix tells us it was unintentional.) Eyonix thanks everyone for coming here, andopponent Marlyn discusses the match here.
Update: Video!

Tag:Analysis / Opinion, Odds and ends, PvP Oh,man. So last night, I got a chance to play a few rounds in Warsong Gulch. Usually, I have a good amount of fun doingso, following along with nicely placed orders and helping out while trying not to get slaughtered, lose my tank, or gothrough all my soul shards. I'm not going to name names here, but last night, I was in a group with a complete andtotal jerk who continually bossed everyone in the team around because he was a higher level, continually calling us allnoobs and flipping out constantly about how we all couldn't do anything right.
